We never want the interior design process to feel overwhelming or intimidating. Whether you arrive full of ideas or with no preparation at all, that is completely okay. If this is your first experience with interior design, or even if it’s a process you’ve been through before our incredible project managers and designers are here to guide you every step of the way and offer expert advice throughout.
The First Step: Your Initial Consultation
The initial consultation is the first step of the design journey with Corby Croft Interiors. After sharing contact details, we’ll book a consultation that can take place either in person at our showroom or virtually, depending on what works best for you.
This consultation is not only about your space, it’s also an opportunity for you to get to know us. You’ll meet the team you’ll be working with, learn more about our process, and decide whether we’re the right fit for your vision and needs.
Understanding Your Vision
During your initial consultation, we’ll talk through what you’re looking for in your design. This might include specific styles, colours, layouts, or any clear do’s and don’ts you already have in mind. If you’re unsure or have no clear direction yet, that’s absolutely fine. This is where our experienced design team really shines, helping you explore ideas and guiding you toward a design that works beautifully for your space and lifestyle.
Our goal is to create interiors you’ll love, even if you don’t yet know exactly what that looks like.
How to Prepare (If You’d Like To)
Preparation is optional, but if you’d like to gather inspiration beforehand, browsing platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, or interior design magazines can be helpful. This can give you a clearer idea of what you’re drawn to, and just as importantly, what you don’t like.
It’s also completely normal to change your mind throughout the process. Many clients initially rule out certain elements, only to fall in love with them once they see how they work within a CAD design of their own home. Every space is unique, and what works in one home may not work in another.
If you notice specific features, colours, or styles you like, simply make a note of them. Our designers will happily talk through these ideas with you during your consultation.
Exploring the Showroom
If your consultation takes place in our showroom, we’ll be able to show you a wide range of finishes, colours, and kitchen features. We’ll also talk through appliance options, budget considerations, and the next steps. Such as booking in your home measure.
What Happens Next?
Following the initial consultation, our designers will arrange a home measure. From there, we’ll create a computer-aided design (CAD) of your space along with an initial design pack. This allows you to see your space brought to life and provides a strong foundation to refine and develop the design further until it’s just right.
